Short answers,
no hunting.

The four things people ask about most. If what you need is not here, write to us and we will answer, and then add it.

Setting up your school week

Open Schedule, then Set up your week. You tell Soar which days you have school, when the day starts and ends, and what your classes are. Soar uses that to work out how much time you actually have on any given evening, which is what makes the plan realistic rather than wishful.

You can change it later. If your timetable changes partway through the year, go back to the same screen and edit it. Nothing you have already planned is lost.

Adding days off

Open Schedule, then Days off. Add the dates your school is closed: holidays, teacher days, breaks. Soar stops treating those as school days, so it will not plan work into a morning that does not exist or expect homework on a day you are away.

It is worth entering the whole year at the start. It takes a few minutes once and then the plan stays honest for months.

Linking a calendar

Open Calendar, then Manage feeds, and paste the link your school or your family calendar gives you. Soar accepts links that start with https:// or webcal://. Those are the same thing written two ways, and Soar handles the conversion for you.

If the link is rejected, it is almost always because it is a link to a web page rather than to the calendar itself. Look for a button that says subscribe, or export, or iCal, rather than copying the address out of the browser bar.

Anything that arrives from a calendar can be edited afterwards. If a due date is wrong or a name is unhelpful, change it. Your edit is kept and will not be overwritten the next time the calendar updates.

Inviting someone onto your team

Open Settings, then Team. Choose the kind of person you are inviting, and Soar gives you a one-time code to send them. Before they accept, they are shown exactly what they will be able to see and what they will never be able to do.

A parent can see how the week is going, including how much focused time you have put in. They never see your classwork. A coach or tutor can see the plan and send encouragement, and cannot change anything at all. Everyone on your team is visible to you, and you can remove any of them whenever you want. It takes effect on their next click.
